The finals of the Centenary Inter-School Staff Badminton Tournament was held on the 10th December, 2016, where the teachers from 12 schools participated in the tournament. The final constituted of the women's as well as the men's team. It was an all-around enthralling feat put up by the teacher’s. The agility and talent of the teams were worth watching. The finalists’ women's teams were St. Thomas' College and Carman School, Dalanwala. In the men's category, the finalists were St. Thomas' College and Touchwood School.
The idea behind the tournament was to bring together the teacher's fraternity of schools in order to keep them fit and active and through them to encourage the pupils to actively participate in all the games and sports activities.
The winners of this year’s tournament were in Carman School, Dalanwala in the women’s category and Touchwood School in the men’s category.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. S. Benjamin, Ex-Student and Ex-Senior English Teacher of St. Thomas’ College. Mr. R. V. Gardener, MLA and Principal in his address thanked all the principals of various schools for sending their teachers to actively participate in the tournament and congratulated all the winners.
